La splendida notizia è stata comunicata dalla casa editrice Marotta&Cafiero Editori. L’annuncio è arrivato dalle “pagine social” ufficiali. La popolare libreria partenopea conosciuta con il nome di ”La Scugnizzeria”, situata a Scampia – Area Nord di Napoli, spesso teatro di scontri tra clan camorristici e piazza di spaccio di stupefacenti – conquista un nuovo e importante traguardo in ambito culturale e sociale (“SPACCIATORI DI LIBRI” A SCAMPIA: UN SOGNO IMPOSSIBILE DIVENUTO REALTÀ).
Rosario Esposito La Rossa e la casa editrice indipendente Marotta&Cafiero Editori, che si occupano di narrativa e d’impegno sociale sul territorio – già protagonisti per numerose iniziative ed attività – hanno informato i loro “followers” con un post su Facebook e Instagram: ”Un grande giorno per la Campania. Oggi proviamo a diventare un editore nazionale. Grazie a Roberto Santachiara. Benvenuto King, Stephen King”. In un’intervista La Rossa ha spiegato: ”Lo abbiamo letto in rete e abbiamo contattato l’agente di King con una mail. Sembrava impossibile e invece ci siamo riusciti. E alla fine il miracolo si è realizzato. Poi qui a Scampia il discorso contro le armi si rafforza e assume un significato particolare”.
Il celebre scrittore Stephen King ha, infatti, scelto “La Scugnizzeria” per pubblicare il suo saggio inedito intitolato “Guns- Contro le armi”. Nato a Portland (Oregon) nel Settembre del 1947, King è conosciuto e apprezzato per aver scritto numerosi best seller, tra cui “Il miglio verde“, “Misery“, “IT“, “Shining” e “Mucchio d’ossa”. Un autore planetario sul podio dell’editoria con più di 500 milioni di copie vendute nel mondo (di cui 13 milioni in Italia (*Fonte: Repubblica.it*).
”Guns – Contro le armi” è stato scritto da uno Stephen King stravolto dalla notizia del massacro del 2012 nell’Istituto Elementare di Sandy Hook, (borgo della città di Newtown in Connecticut – USA) dove trovarono la morte ventisette persone, di cui venti bambini. Una strage che riaprì numerose discussioni sulla facilità di reperire legalmente armi negli Stati Uniti d’America, impiegate per omicidi di massa come quello sopra citato. Stephen King intende far luce su una situazione ormai da anni fuori controllo nel suo Paese, per questo motivo, nel saggio l’autore suggerisce possibili soluzioni schierandosi contro la violenza.
La presentazione dell’opera avverrà in occasione del “Salone del Libro” che si terrà a Torino dal 14 al 18 Maggio (seguiranno aggiornamenti). Le date sono state annunciate durante la conferenza stampa della scorsa edizione. Tuttavia, le copie del libro saranno disponibili a partire dal 4 Maggio 2021.
Non ci resta che vedere Stephen King in carne ed ossa a Scampia.

A dream come true.
Amazing news comes from the famous publishing house Marotta & Cafiero Editori, the announcement was posted on their official social pages.
The popular Neapolitan bookshop known as ‘‘La Scugnizzeria”, located in the North of Naples – theatre of clashes between camorra clans and drug square – conquers a new and important goal in the cultural and social sphere.
The famous horror writer Stephen King has chosen La Scugnizzeria to publish his essay entitled ‘Guns – Against weapons’.
Rosario Esposito La Rossa and the independent publishing house Marotta & Cafiero Editori, cooperators of numerous initiatives and social activities in the Neapolitan area, have informed their followers on Facebook and Istagram confirming:
”A great day for Campania region. Today we try to become a national publisher. Thanks to Roberto Santachiara. Welcome King, the great Stephen King”.
Stephen King (was born in Portland, Oregon in September 1947) is known and appreciated all over the world for having written numerous bestsellers such as The Green Mile, Misery, IT, Shining, Bag of Bones and many others. A planetary author with 350 million copies sold all over the world.
A great dream come true for the Italian region, it is the protagonist of the exclusive event that will see the American writer Stephen King and the small publishing house of Scampia united, with the aim of selling books and culture not only in Italy and abroad, but especially in Campania – a land that has been plagued for too many years by the neglect of National institutions.
Rosario Esposito la Rossa explained:
”We read the news online and contacted King’s agent with an email to be sure of it. It seemed impossible and instead we succeeded. The miracle was realized. Then here in Scampia, the discourse against weapons is strengthened and takes on a particular meaning…”.
“Guns – Against weapons” is the title of the essay written in one breath by Stephen King, driven by the emotional wave when he read the news of the massacre in the Sandy Hook Elementary Institute in 2012, where twenty-seven people were killed, of which twenty children.
A massacre that reopened numerous discussions about the acquisition of legal weapons in the United States of America.
Stephen King intends to shed light on a situation that has been out of control for years in his country (USA) and tries to suggest possible solutions, taking sides against violence.
The presentation of Stephen King’s essay will take place at the Turin Book Fair. The dates were announced during the press conference of the last edition and will be held from 14th to 18th May (updates will follow).
However, copies of the book will be available from 4th May 2020 from the Mondadori publishing house.
To complete the miracle we just have to see Stephen King meet Scampia and its people.
